HORIZONTAL VACUUM FILTERS are designed and constructed to reach elevated efficiencies for the sludge dehydration. They are available in two main versions.

                 

One type (HVBF-Horizontal Vacuum Belt Filter) is equipped with a special reinforced rubber belt with draining grooves supporting the filter belt screen. The belt and the filter belt screens are simultaneously driven continuously. It is normally used with high capacities, heavy solids and large filtration surfaces.

The other type (HVCF-Horizontal Vacuum Cloth Filter) is generally used for smaller filtration surfaces (small flow rates with lighter solids content) and only requires the filter belt screen without any rubber support. The filter belt screen is driven intermittently. The slurry is fed in by gravity from the upper part of the machine through a special distributor.

The heavier solids, with larger particle size distribution, first lay on the filter belt screen and retain the smaller particles, enhancing and assisting the filtration phase. The characteristics and the design of the filters guarantee very accurate washings procedures of the dried solids (so-called “cake”) and optimal recovery of the washing liquids, reducing media consumption significantly.

All filters are manufactured using the most suitable materials with reference to the physical-chemical characteristics of the products. Designing and providing all necessary accessories for a complete turn-key package with instrumentation, vacuum system with pumps, cake and filter belt screen washing systems, hydro-cyclones, ancillaries and automation. The units can be shipped pre-assembled, skid mounted, easy to install full complying with Tecniplant’s “pulg in” philosophy, reducing time taker for the installation, start-up and commissioning. The modular construction ensures the highest operating efficiency and an easy access for maintenance.
